About
Town of the Living Trees is a carver owned and operated business located in Soldotna Alaska. Scott Hanson owns this 22 acre parcel called Town of Living Trees on mile 91.7 of the Sterling Hwy, just outside Soldotna. Scott started doing chainsaw carvings in the early 90's when a wind storm blew down several trees on his parents farm in Minnesota. Instead of cutting up the wood for fire he decided to carve out a garden gnome for his mom. Things just took off from there as friends and family loved the gnomes and got Scott to carve other figures for them. In 1996 Scott moved to Alaska to assist his brother-in-law with the Iditarod. In 1997 Scott started Hanson's Custom Carving. In 2004 Hanson's Custom Carving became Town of Living Trees Inc.
Town of Living Trees is a great place to bring the whole family. We have to only Alaskan Animal Carousel in the world that has been carved by Alaskan Men that kids of all ages love to ride on. There is also a gift shop featuring chainsaw carvings of all kinds. Very unique. Also stop on over at the True Blue Drive Thru and get yourself a specialty coffee or ice drink all year round.
Come on over....and Bring the Whole Family!

We visited you on our trip to Alaska the first week in August 2011. We were so impressed by your craftsmanship, your faith story, AND your prices! Unbelievable! We brought an eagle home with us and now it sits proudly next to our fireplace in our home! Thank you so much, we love it and wish you all the best
